Well don't be too worried. Officials may have pinpointed the problem.
Fireworks that were set off for the New Years Eve festivities may have been the cause. Black birds have notoriously bad sight during night hours. When people were launching up obnoxiously loud fireworks, it may have stirred the birds from their nests and caused them to fly straight into houses at top speeds.
But this is just one explanation. I still think it's aliens. If you got any better ideas I'd love the hear them.
