Vaccine Agaisnt Addiction

Researchers have gotten a step closer to fighting the war on drugs. A new vaccine, which combines the common cold virus and a trace amount of cocaine, has been administered to mice with astounding effects.

When the vaccine is administered, the subject can no longer get high from cocaine. The combonation of the virus and the drugs make the body produce an immune reaction when cocaine enters the blood stream. It is just like how your cells would fend off an infection.

Although this new vaccine halts the body from getting the euphoria associated with recreational drug use, addiction which predates this new science is not mentioned in the study.

What if this new medical technology was taken a step farther? Potentially spread to nicotine vaccination? The days of the monkey on your back would be through.
